The 15mm Canon Fisheye Lens is really a 180 degree full frame diagonal fisheye lens designed for Canon's full frame sensor cameras such as the 1Ds Mark III and also the 5d Mark II and all earlier full frame models. The 15mm Canon is a prime AF Lens with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. Sadly, this lens continues to be discontinued and replaced with a more recent model.

In the event you Still Buy The 15mm Canon?

Until very recently, the 15mm Canon was the only real Canon fisheye lens you can get, leaving Canon owners using the 1.6x and 1.3x crop cameras in the cold. Canon has now replaced the 15mm with the 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye Zoom Lens. When i write this it is not yet on sale however the 15mm Canon is still available brand new and that i suspect once the 8-15mm zoom is released to the public you'll see increasingly more from the 15mm fisheye's become available in the used lens market.

Like a louboutin Canon 5d Mark II shooter myself I was more than a little disappointed that Canon didn't upgrade the barbour pas cher soldes existing 15mm fisheye. I understand the need for the new 8-15mm fisheye zoom and I can appreciate why mid-range Canon users are excited by the new fisheye zoom. But for full frame shooters the brand new lens doesn't offer much unless your into creating circular fisheye images. Based on Canon, the new 8-15mm fisheye zoom is supposed to allow full frame users to be able to range barbour pa from diagonal (15mm) down to circular (8mm) having a simple twist from the zoom ring. Awesome, if you want circular images! If you don't - and I occur to fall under that category - then louboutin pas cher your new zoom really has nothing to offer since the maximum aperture on the new fisheye zoom is a mere f/4.

I currently own the 15mm Canon and that i don't think I'll be eliminating it anytime soon even when the new fisheye zoom jordan pas cher from Canon finally comes out. Of hollister deutschland Utilize barbour outlet course I'm going to go for a test run when it's time and that i wish that such a lens existed back when hollister sale I was still shooting with a Canon Rebel. Undoubtedly, the new 8-15mm fisheye will be a good lens; and can hollister it satisfy the full frame Canon shooter? Lets take a abercrombie look at canon's 15mm fisheye lens.

Image Excellence of the 15mm Canon Fisheye Lens

The 15mm Canon Fisheye is the sharpest lens that That i have ever seen on any fisheye. If there is a sharper fisheye lens out there then Let me see it. The majority of my photography buddies shoot with Nikon's and not one of them will dispute the fact that my 15mm Canon is razor sharp compared to either of the fisheye's made by Nikon. Even wide open at f/2.8 this lens is sharp like a tack. With a close focus distance of 8 inches you are able to relocate really close with this particular Canon fisheye lens for all those highly dramatic eye popping shots.

Auto Focus becomes manifest pretty quickly about this lens though it has the old-style AF motor onto it. No ultra sonic motor about this lens as it was originally designed in 1987. Canon makes virtually no changes about this lens ever since then.

Chromatic Aberration could be better; and here the Nikon's are clearly the winner, but nothing that can't be dealt with easily should you shoot in RAW so you can digitally take it off. I often have the sun's rays in my fisheye shots and rarely must i deal with any serious ghosting and flaring problems. Color saturation and contrast are as good as it gets with this lens. The 15mm Canon Fisheye translates into great images and also you really get to understand why lens when you make large prints with it like I do.

Like other top quality fisheye lenses giuseppe zanotti sneakers the 15mm Canon has a rear gelatin filter holder. At 11.6 ounces it doesn't weigh very much and you will easily carry it around in a vest or jacket pocket before it is very noticeable.

So although the Canon 15mm isn't an "L" series lens, it is a prime lens and can hold its very own against a zoom even if it's an "L" series lens.

Is The 15mm Canon Fisheye For you personally?

If your a full frame Canon shooter and you just like abercrombie a fast prime lens that creates beautiful images i quickly highly recommend canon's 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens even though you need to buy it used. If you like the idea of abercrombie soldes having the ability to shoot both diagonal and circular fisheye images with one lens and do not mind a slow f/4 maximum aperture, then you might want to opt for the 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye Zoom. Whenever it comes down out louboutin pas cher that is!
