I got my Haruhi doll by Azone a couple days ago. You already saw the bunnygirl outfit from the set on my Mikuru doll, but you haven't seen Haruhi herself yet. She's wearing the North High school uniform from the anime.
I set her up next to my TV and in front of my old Nintendo. She's beyond eccentric,[url=http://duveticadoudoune.halod.com/][b]Femmes Doudoune Duvetica[/b][/url], so she wanted a unique place to hang out. Since she didn't come with a stand, she's leaning in the corner created by the TV and the Nintendo. Anyway, it's review time!
I think the shoes look a bit too long. Almost like clown shoes. They're not bad,[url=http://duveticaitaliaoutlet.webmium.com/][b]duvetica down jackets[/b][/url], and it isn't even very noticeable,[url=http://billigmonclerjackenkaufen.olimx.com/][b]Billig Moncler Jacken[/b][/url], but at least they're faithful to the anime. They're hard plastic, and they have a rather small hole for the foot to go in. They're a very, very tight fit. I had a hard time getting the shoes off to fix a balance issue created by the socks, and I had an even harder time getting them back on. I'm thinking of putting the Momoko style slit in the back of them, but I don't know yet. I doubt they'll fit on Momoko or Jenny feet without that modification, though. The black socks are the same black socks that came with the To Heart 2 uniform I got last June.
Yes, you can tell this is an Obitsu body when you get up to the knees. It's also a medium "soft bust" 2 part type of body. This body should make outfits look better than with my Obitsu Megahouse Mikuru's body with her ginormous. personality.
Up to the skirt. No complaints here. It looks great,[url=http://woolrichoutletdeutschland.halod.com/][b]Woolrich Deutschland[/b][/url], has pleats in the right spots,[url=http://woolrichoutletdeutschland.halod.com/][b]Woolrich Herren outlet[/b][/url], and secures nicely. The belt is semi-functional. It's one of those slip-through things rather than securing with a hook, but it's tight and does its job. Don't forget to tuck the shirt under it!
Moving up to the shirt,[url=http://billigmonclerjackenkaufen.olimx.com/][b]Moncler Jacke[/b][/url], it's also not bad. The sailor collar is a bit uneven,[url=http://woolrichoutletde.albirank.net/][b]Woolrich Online Shop[/b][/url], but it's not bad. The Japanese letter or symbol in the top center is there, just as it is in the anime. Most of the shirt gets tucked under the skirt, though. In a Steve Urkel move, the skirt's almost up to the nipples The "brigade leader" armband is plastic and snaps on around her arm.
Under the uniform is underwear. An orange bra and an orange pair of panties. I only went searching for the bra because I saw somebody selling Azone Mikuru's bra and panties on ebay one time and wondered if they supplied Haruhi with similar undergarments. They did. The panties are average panties, but the bra is interesting. It looks like the straps are just ribbons. They don't look out of place, but my Megahouse Mikuru has a bra with much better bra straps. Then again, it's not like bras are very much standard issue with a lot of dolls.
The head fits on oddly. It's hard to compare it with my Megahouse Mikuru because her hair probably gives her head some extra support, but this Haruhi head just flops around on the neck. It's almost a bobblehead doll. It's hard to keep it in position.
Continuing on to her face, you can tell she looks like Haruhi! Big smile, wide eyes. Yeah, it's Haruhi. The hair ribbons come on an orange plastic headband. They look good. Unfortunately, the hair is the most disappointing part of this doll. It's so bad that I will have to do some work on it somewhere down the line. There's a strange vertical triangular cut up the back of the hair. I can hide it by moving hair around to even it out around the back of her head, but without some styling gel or a total reroot, it isn't going to stay. The hair above her right shoulder is also cut much higher than it is over her left shoulder. I guess I could even it out by snipping some hair off of the left side. The worst part is the two locks of hair that are supposed to come down between her shoulders. They look horrible. The right lock is angling the wrong way, and the left lock is barely a lock at all. They're both supposed to be styled and straight with a small angle in around the collarbone, but they're just a mess. At least the hair over her forehead looks right. If I can fix the sides and front without a reroot,[url=http://giuseppezanottisneakerssale.olimx.com/][b]http://giuseppezanottisneakerssale.olimx.com/[/b][/url], I might be happy. I'm not going to see that big triangular abomination on the back of her head that often anyway.
The doll's box is minimalistic but efficient. There aren't a lot of annoying twist ties and stuff holding the doll down. There are only three or four bungee-like things that are easy to remove and a clear plastic loop around the head,[url=http://rogervivierheelssale.webstarts.com/][b]roger vivier heels sale online store[/b][/url]. All of the accessories are in little baggies. This is the best method of packaging ever.
All in all, I'm glad I got her. I love her just the way she is, but her hair could use some work. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with her if I give her a reroot, though. (My first reroot, perhaps.) I might give her the longer hairstyle she had in the first episode of the anime back when she first introduced herself to the class. I really liked that look. Long straight hair. I'm sure I'm going to get lots of enjoyment out of her, but I'm afraid she might end up being a little independent. Oh well, at least I've got my Mikuru to keep me company
