My name is jo1980 and I a shoe-aholic,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
I honestly do not know the exact number of my shoe collection. I currently have about 60 pairs in my closet. There are at least 100 pairs carefully boxed up and labeled in our garage and probably that number again (maybe more) stored in one of my husbands off-site storage facilities (he thinks those boxes contain old dishes etc. - I couldn throw them out because I certain they may come back into style soon!). Part of the reason I have so many is that I can bare to part with ANY of them (I get that from my pack-rat mother). I have every conceivable kind pump in every heel height,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], sandals,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], flats,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], slings,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], boots (knee height on down),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], mules,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], slides. I don have any of the newer style platforms (lived through that in the 70 aging myself).
My current shoe "rotation" includes a digital picture of each pair of shoes (side shot and front view) clipped to the front of each box. This helps me when trying to decide which pair to wear with a certain outfit. The names of the shoes don give you any clue as to the type of shoe ex.- Sumatra, Goliath,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Girlie,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], etc.
When I'm trying to choose a pair of shoes to wear out I'll ask myself - the style of "dress",[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], how long I'll be on my feet,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], indoors/outdoors etc. Once that's done I'll choose the shoe type and the color THEN I'll build my outfit around them.
I have a pair of loafers that I wear a lot,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a pair of really dressy shoes that I wear on occasion, an old pair of loafers that I wear when I'm outside piddling,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a pair of sandals that I wear a lot during the summer and a pair of house slippers. That's it. Oh,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I do have a pair of patent leather shoes that I wear with my tux but I wear that so seldom that it's hardly worth mentioning. Of course I have been known to wear my sandals with my tux so you can't go by me at all. My wife was mortified but not surprised.
