Quidditch World Cup 2011 Just to give fair warning, there are plenty of pictures here. I took 300+ over the weekend. Yikes! So after a long weekend in New York City I've come back with an abundance of pictures and memories. It was a lot of fun, minus getting lost in NYC a lot and the bad driver who merged into our lane and hit us on the way to hotel. The hardest part of this blog post was probably sifting through the 300+ photos I took of the games. Nice actions shots, and random ones where people looked like they were really flying. It was an amazing time. When we first go into the event they had the car from the movie parked on the lawn. So we took plenty of photos in front of it. I think they might have been raffling it off or that was some lie told to me be a game commentator. :( LOLHere is a small look into the amount of people that came to Randall's Island for the World Cup, and this was about midday. Our first stop was at Alivan's Wand & Broommakers stand where Kim got a Ravenclaw hat and I got a Slytherine scarf. Kim felt like her hat, while she did like it, made her look like a boy/cancer patient. LOLOur next stop was to find out the schedule of the games and then we got in line for food. I purchased a 2 lb. tukey leg which I sadly forgot to take a photo of, spilling turkey juice on kim's shorts and it took Anna, Kim and me to eat the majority of it which even combined we couldn't finish it. We did see the Chancellor of the World Cup, and I took a creepy stalker photo of him being interviewed. Here are some action shots from various matches during the weekend. Please note the snitch groping the players while they stretch. LOLBaby SharkAt the risk of appearing really creepy, I took this candid shot. Not because of the little girl, but because of the giant folding chair she was climbing all over. If you look carefully you see her mother sitting in it behind her. They're HUGE! These chairs were AMAZING! I totally want one. So I blurred the little girl's face so I'm not a total creeper -____-Canada's U Ottawa team definitely won style points as they had the nicest shirts and even did a choreography dance before their match. In my opinion if they'd been more aggressive in their elimination match they probably would have won it, but then everyone tells me they're Canadian. They're known for being nice!Anna and Kim were really excited about their free hot chocolate voucher they got for buying the tickets early at a discounted price. However because of problems using their vouchers to claim their tickets online the people at the front booth took the paper that had their free hot chocolate coupon on it. So Anna had to buy it, but she still enjoyed every drop.We saw the guy selling Snitchwiches. Which are wheat bread, peanut butter, golden grahams and honey. For an extra dollar he would sculpt you sandwich into a snitch shape then throw it into your mouth. We were fortunate enough to see a Nerdfighter volunteer for this extra service. How did I know she was a Nerdfighter She was wearing a Pizza John shirt. LOLKim bought one on Sunday, belstaff wax jacket, and when I asked her what it tasted like she said, belstaff racing blouson, Peanutbutter and sometimes honey. Lol. She did NOT opt in for the sculpted snitchwich. I don't like peanutbutter so I didn't even taste it.The first day there was a massive line waiting for the Wafels and Dings truck. It took us the entire day to figure out what they were selling. So our first stop at 9:30 am on Sunday was to get in line for the most delicious wafels I've ever had in my LIFE! No joke.Kim and I both got Light and Crispy Wafels with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Kim got melted Nutella on hers and I got Belgium melted chocolate and strawberries. SO GOOD! After we ate them we understood the massive line that remained there all weekend. :)On Sunday we also saw Maureen Johnson helping the Snitchwich guy. I once again took creepy photos of her as well. Aren't her cowgirl apron and pink mittens so cuteMaureen was there primarily to sell YA SAVES tshirts. We waited most of Sunday for her, stalking her relentlessly on twitter. Then we got her to sign our books and take a photo with us. Jessica was so jealous :) Did I mention Maureen Johnson smells really good Lol and WHY DOES ANNA LOOK SO TALL! T____TAt some point before we met Maureen, while they were calculating the games for the semi-finals,belstaff h racer jacket, a random game of dodge ball broke out between Canada and USA. Although at some point people got confused and it wasn't always a full canadian or american team. And here's a random cute shot of Kim. Lol!Anna found a new boyfriend, also blonde. LMAOOne of my favorite teams is the Delaware Valley Dragons Quidditch Team. They're so fun and spunky, and at the Brotherly Love Cup one of them asked Kim and me to join their team because they need more asians. They were cool and I'd leant them some jumper cables for someone's car. I'm not sure if they remember that Lol LETS GO DEL VAL!When I asked Ron if he could tell I photoshopped some of these photos he thought I'd photoshopped myself into them instead of me just photoshopping myself to look nicer. LMAO! And that was Quidditch World Cup in one blog post! :) You're welcome ;)
