I want to buy Park Place
It makes more sense to think of our leaders and intellectuals as half-crazed hooting howler monkeys - just like the rest of us."
-Michael Lind, Salon, August 23,2011
"Seeing what isn't there is half the job of being on the Left. The other half is changing what isn't there through costly,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], intrusive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and ill-conceived initiatives (save 10 percent for keeping Charlie Rangel out of trouble)." -Abe Greenberg, October 9, 2009
"To date, what non-Obama voters see, and fear, is a candidate content to coast to the nomination and then conduct a blandly conservative campaign. They want a more substantive choice than that. They want to have it out over the worth or danger of Barack Obama's ideas. They want the chance to ratify Washington's enormous long-term claims on the country's wealth,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or decisively reject them." - Daniel Henninger, WSJ, July 21, 2011
We now have two competing "kisses of death." Bill Kristol is the worst political prognosticator in the world,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], even though he's really, really convincing in a sincere and informed and neo-connish way. And, he actually goes out on limbs with regularity and is almost always wrong. It's gotten to the point that when he says,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], "I predict." and it's something that I wish really would happen, I go through a little exorcism ritual to counteract his oppositional mojo.
Barack Obama,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], on the other hand, is the grim reaper of future possibilities. He says "I favor X" in whatever play off, and "X" goes down in the first round in a rout, their center/quarterback/pitcher fouled out/concussed/arrested in the first 10 minutes of the game. If he joins the razzle-dazzle tour for anything, it goes to crap. Olympics, anyone? Care to weigh in, Jon. Martha. Creigh? This is why the serious money is on Sharon "My Orthodontist is also my Podiatrist" Angle against Harry Reid. And you could hear the groans from the Bulls exec offices when he said,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], "I think LeBron James would be great in Chicago." So when he said about the Ground Zero Mosque (and I paraphrase) "Why stop at 15 stories? Let's make it 30- Alexi can help line up the financing!" at the "annual" iftar dinner,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I thought yeeeeeesssss- we're home free!
But then,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Mr. Kristol, as he is wont to do,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], pronounces the project dead. Yes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he has good reason to think so. And yes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he's convinced me. But why does he have to SAY so?
There have been a couple of things worth noting about this controversy. Sarah Palin was, once again, way out in front on this. She set the pace with what,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], at the time, seemed like overwrought, emotional language ("hallowed ground," etc. that appeared to tick off the militantly secular even on the right.) But she has a knack for getting to the heart of the matter and as the message has had time to mature and be articulated by Newt Gingrich,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and then hosts of others, the vast majority are on Sarah Palin's page. To cap it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], she had a of the President himself. Who on the right is off this page? Interestingly, Ramesh Ponnuru and (less interestingly, more offensively, and more predictably) .
I will also note that for those of us who aren't terribly familiar with the geography of the Ground Zero area, two blocks away seemed like a decent distance, and the media kept portraying it that way. No one until just a few days ago reported that the landing gear of the plane that Mohammed Atta was flying actually blew through two floors of the very building that Daisy K wants to demolish to make way for Mecca-West.
Also, Greg Gutfeld's "Name the Muslim Gay Bar" contest- he says it's no joke, he has investors (where do I send my check?)-- has settled on a name. Leading suggestions were "Suspicious Packages," "Turban Cowboy," "United 69," and my personal fave, "Outfidels!" But the final name was suggested by the GZM developers themselves (the group is now known officially as Park51,) in a tweet:
So,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], yes, as a matter of fact, that's exactly what Mr. Gutfeld will build: Dialog,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the first Muslim Gay bar that doesn't feature nooses.
I think he should build it even if the mosque project is sh And in this tweet, there's everything you need to know about getting along with "Muslims"- you need to respect their sensibilities to have a dialog,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but they don't have to respect anyone else's (because they really aren't interested in dialog.)
The official youth basketball jerseys, like nba Jerseys, mlb Jerseys,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],nhl Jerseys and nfl Jerseys Wholesale may be very expensive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but you can certainly be assured that the amount for the jersey can be warranted.
